Several Arsenal players were involved in yesterday's
U21 international matches, with varying fortunes.
Congratulations are due to Graham Barrett, who scored his
first 2 goals at International level in the Republic's 3-0 win over Estonia (his 9th cap). Both of them were scored with his head. Shocking.
But Jermaine Pennant and Matthew Upson suffered a 3-1 defeat in Athens in a
match which saw 2 England players sent off. The Greeks were
playacting and diving all over the place, and the ref seemed happy to see things their way. Dave Ashley and Martin, beware! |
