Arsenal's Sol Campbell (we still get a kick out of that!) has not been included in the England squad to face Holland in a friendly next week.
The official reason appears to be 'injury' - or probably more accurately, the risk of an injury as he returns to full match-fitness. But we can't help wondering if it's because the sight of Campbell turning out (in a white shirt and blue shorts, too!) at White Hart Lane might be a bit much for some people.
Richard Wright, Ashley Cole, and Martin Keown are present in the squad... but David Seaman is missing. He is reportedly 'just being rested' - he is getting on, don't forget! - and will be back in the squad for the big Germany game. But we can't help feeling Dave's into the final furlong as far as international football is concerned.
