Arsenal's Francis Jeffers scored with the last kick of the game to give David Platt's England U21 side an important victory over the Germans in Freiburg on Friday night.
Jeffers ran on to the end of a delightful through-ball, shooting across the face of goal and inside the far post, making it 2-1 after a match largely dominated by the home side.
Joe Cole had opened the scoring for England, and it took a superb cross met at the back post to finally beat Arsenal's Stuart Taylor in goal. In truth, the Germans squandered quite a few great chances - but when they did get it on target, Taylor had a good game.
England remain third in their qualifying group for the forthcoming European Championships, but hopes are high with both their remaining games at home.
