Trezeguet held the lone striker role in the now traditional 4-2-3-1 formation, Bob and Sylvain started the game on the wings while TH12 came on after after half-time for the largely ineffective SW11.
Patrick played his thirtieth consecutive game for France, the 46th of his career before he was subbed by Real' s Makelele after 60 mins. Then Fulham new boy Marlet came on for Pires.
All in all, a poor game for France on a poor pitch which ended in a poor result. For the record Galdames (3) and Navia (50) scored for Chile, Trezegol reduced the score from 5 yds after TH deflected a Thuram long ball. Most important is that all Gooners remained unscathed.
Meanwhile, Jerôme Aliadière has been called-up for France u19 who are due to play their swiss counterparts next Weds.
