Arsenal third choice goalie Stuart Taylor was dropped by England U21 manager David Platt for the decisive game against Greece. Jermaine Pennant, however, was promoted from the U19 team to a starting place. Taylor's replacement Chris Kirkland of Liverpool was the hero of the day as England won 2-1. The U21 internationals have to go through playoff games to reach the European championships. |
