Interesting news from Australia.
It's being reported over (down) there that FIFA
have relented and are preparing to withdraw their
request that France and Australia pick no more
than one player from each club.
Sepp Blatter is being quoted as saying that both
countries can pick who they want for the Friendly on
November 11th, and that an official announcement
of some sort will be made on Monday.
It it possible that the announcement will be no
more than a confirmation that the request was
nothing more than a request, and that if the
countries choose to ignore it, FIFA rules will
be enforced.
It's also possible that it's wishful thinking
on the part of the Australian press.
Personally, I hope that FIFA do withdraw the
request completely. See this
