Arsenal midfielder Fredrik Ljungberg may miss Sweden's opening World Cup match against England because of a mysterious hip injury. The Swedish medical staff can't find any specific signs of injury, but confirms that Ljungberg is in pain. He missed a good chunk of Arsenal's double winning season with injury, and played the last games with painkiller injections for a back strain. According to Swedish newspapers, Ljungberg had felt the pain for a week but had nevertheless wanted to play in the 1-1 draw against Japan on Saturday. More at Reuters. Arseweb reckons that Swedish mind games, though a contradiction in terms ;-), shouldn't be ruled out... |
