A lot of Arsenal players are involved in Euro qualifiers and friendlies this week. Three Arsenal players are selected for the French squad for the Confederations Cup. Robert Pires, Sylvain Wiltord and Thierry Henry are all likely to appear at some stage on home turf from June 18-29. Patrick Vieira is out injured. Giovanni van Bronckhorst is an option for the Dutch team against Belarus in Minsk June 7. Fredrik Ljungberg will be a part of Sweden's plans against San Marino on June 11 and Poland on June 14. Sweden are only third in their group. Leaders Latvia, with Igors Stepanovs, travel to Hungary June 7. The Ivory Coast has picked Kolo Touré in the squad for the African Nations Cup qualifiers against Burundi June 8 and South Africa June 22. Internationals mean a nice change for Arsenal's U17 midfielder Ingi Højsted, 17, who is already in the Faroe Islands international squad. The Faroes will play an Arctic Sea derby against Iceland away on June 7, and host Germany on June 11. |
