Jose and Phil avoid each other in play-offs by Rupe

The draw for the World Cup play-offs has been made, and the good news for the Gunners involved is that they've avoided having to try to put each other out.

Jose Antonio Reyes' Spain shouldn't have too much trouble getting past Slovakia (who drew with Russia in the final game to stay ahead of them in second place in their group behind runaway winner Portugal). Spain are at home in the first leg on Saturday 12th November, then go to Slovakia for the second the following Wednesday.

Switzerland, featuring Philippe Senderos, are also at home first but, not having been seeded for this draw, they've got a much tougher opponent in Turkey. The Turks finished second behind Ukraine, only having needed only to beat Albania in the last match to keep Denmark out.

The 3rd play-off will be between the Czech Republic and Norway.

These play-off matches take place in another 2 week break from the Premiership (see calendar).
