There will be very few smiles among the various Arsenal squad members involved in Euro2000 matches on Wednesday.
- England could only manage a 1-1 draw in Bulgaria, with Teddy Sheringham being very much to blame for the host's equalising goal. Ray Parlour came on as a second-half substitute, and did some good work on the right wing, as England reverted to a more familiar 4-4-2 formation, but the visitors could not find a way through.
- France had a shocker against the mighty Andorra, with Dugarry being sent off midway through the first half; they had to wait until an 85th minute Leboeuf penalty to break the deadlock and snatch a 1-0 win. Petit started the game, only to be replaced by our own Paddy Vieira; Anelka played the full 90 minutes, and was ultimately responsible for earning the penalty.
- Oleg Luzhny's Ukraine side could only manage a 0-0 draw against Armenia. Supposed Arsenal target Sergei Rebrov was substituted due to injury.
