Although Keegan will (for the first time) delay naming his
side till the last moment, rumour has it that Ray Parlour
will lose his spot for tomorrow's match in Poland despite
shaking off a slight injury. To be
frank, if he was going to be played out of position on
the left again, he's probably better off out of it.
Ray would
be replaced by Paul Scholes, returning from suspension
after his stupid sending off against Sweden. Scholes is
public enemy number one in Poland after his handball goal
in the Wembley clash. Still no left-sided midifelder in
the team then...?
Tony Adams is expected to be passed fit after getting a dead leg, so can be expected to line up
alongside Martin Keown again. Keegan has commented on
what a difficult decision he would have had to make if Sol
Campbell was fit. He's also been praising Tony's
leadership qualities, and saying that he is
effectively England's second captain, "the difference between
them is that Alan calls heads or tails".
