France qualified for the Euro2000 final stages after a hardly fought 3-2 win over Iceland in Paris yesterday (HT score 2-0). Patrick Vieira came on some 20 seconds from time for badly tackled Alain Boghossian. 'Les Bleus' went top of the group thanks to a Russian keeper Filimonov mistake which allowed Oleg Luzhnyi' s Ukrain to get a late equalizer.
Group 4 final standings read at the top : 1. France 21pts (Qualified), 2. Ukrain 20pts (Play-offs), 3. Russia 19pts [...] Croatian Gunner Davor Suker' s name didn' t appear on the scoresheet after their 2 all home draw against Yougoslavia. This result means DS9 and Croatia will not play the Euro2000.
