Patrick Vieira finally started the game in his usual central midfield slot, surged forward a few times but showed poor distribution on one or two occasions. He also hit the post from 8 yards after goalkeeper Pavlovic saved from a Guivarc' h free-kick on the 13th minute. After Pires (46) and Maurice (66) scored, Tony Vairelles added a third 20 minutes from time after he was perfectly sent through by PV4. Davor Suker was non-existant for the whole game as we were all over them and got the captain armband after Boban left the pitch in his last international competitive game. Final score : France 3 Croatia 0
