See Reuters for the full 20-man Lesotho squad
to face Zimbabwe in the first round of the Cosafa Castle Cup on March 5th. It includes 4 little-known Arsenal players including
strikers Lebohang Maama and Paballo Mpakanyane, both of whom
will have joined Graham Barrett in being disappointed that Chris Wreh was
picked ahead of them during our recent (alleged) striker crisis.
Ok, ok, so it's a different Arsenal. Good to see Lesotho Arsenal
getting on though, the last we heard of them was their getting thrashed 5-0 in the preliminary round of last season's African
Cup Winners Cup. Still, I guess that means they won the Lesotho Cup the year before. Come on you, errr, reds?
See our other Arsenals page for info on and links to many other Arsenal teams from
around the world. Most of them took the name (cannon logo, even
shirts in some cases) in homage to the original Arsenal. But
seeing the names of the other teams represented in the Lesotho
squad (Lesotho Defence Force, Lesotho Prison Service, Lesotho
Mounted Police), one can't help wondering if this Arsenal mightn't actually represent an actual Arsenal.
