Sunday's News of the World had one of those curious articles, quoting Emmanuel Petit - which makes us wonder if it wasn't a selective translation.

The thrust of the piece is that Manu is enjoying life in Barcelona - of course he is! - and reckons Patrick Vieira should come and join him. 'I'd even be prepared to go to the president Joan Gaspart on his behalf,' Petit apparently said.

'Patrick is unable to be happy because he needs me and I feel guilty about leaving him. I'm sure that has much to do with his problems. This is the place where he'd be really happy. He should try to get moved to this club where we can join up together again — that would be wonderful.'

If these comments are true - and hey, it wouldn't be the first time Manu was misquoted - we can't help wondering if Petit might be the lonely one here.
