Former Arsenal manager Bruce Rioch has resigned as manager of Wigan, even though he's got the Div2 club to within 2 points of an automatic promotion slot.
According to a club statement: 'After a marvellous career in football things have unfortunately not worked out for Bruce at Wigan, and he has today requested that he be released from his
position.'
For the benefit of younger readers, Rioch was the manager for just over a year, until the arrival of Arsene Wenger. His major achievement was probably signing Dennis Bergkamp..? |
