Stephen Hughes has been lined up for a move to West Ham,
according to reports. The former Arsenal midfielder moved to Goodison because
of the wealth of midfield talent at Highbury which was prventing him from getting a game, and impressed with his early performances for Everton. But less than a year after moving he now finds himself surplus to requirements there too. If he does move,
after just 30 appearances, it will allegedly mean that Arsenal get quite a bit less than what we valued him at, as a large part of the deal between Arsenal and Everton was appearance based.
Hughes definitely won't be facing Arsenal tomorrow though. Harry Redknapp is short of midfielders and keen to clinch the deal in
time to use Hughes against his former team-mates. But Everton also find themselves short of players this weekend, so Walter Smith has stopped the move. It is suggested that it'll go through next week.
It's a double result for Arsenal. Our opponents tomorrow stay weakened, and we make a bit more cash if he plays again for Everton.
