Croatia striker and former Arsenal super-sub Davor Suker is leaving West Ham and English football at the end of the season. Suker plans to quit football after the World Cup in
2002, he has told Spanish daily El Mundo. "After 17 years my professional career is close to ending," the former Real Madrid forward said. "I'll give it one more year. I can't manage it any more at my age: so much travelling, so much stress, so many victories and so many defeats. You get tired. Next season I won't continue in England. "I have offers, as always, from Spain, France, Germany, Japan and Mexico, as well as from Dinamo Zagreb," said Suker, famous for taking a massive pay cut when leaving Real Madrid for Arsenal in 1999. "The important thing for me now is not money. I want to speak other languages, get to know other parts of the world and be rich in experiences." Suker began his career with Croatian clubs Osijek and Dinamo Zagreb before moving to Spain to play for Sevilla and then Real Madrid. He scored 11 goals in 39 appearances for Arsenal in the 1999/2000 season before moving to West Ham on a free transfer.
