Chanting Rocky's name at matches has been a productive form
of therapy for us Gooners this last week, and it seems to be spurring the team on nicely too.
It's hard to separate in ones mind Arsenal's immense Champions League comeback and renewed determination, in the second half on Wednesday, from the sight of Lee Dixon and Tony Adams standing and watching the end of the half-time tribute on the big screens.
And it's hard not to think of Rocky when we see the new-found steel in our
current number 7, which has been so significant in our hattrick of wins this week.
But many of us will have been wondering about more productive ways of honouring his memory...
Well, Rocky's widow has asked that any donations be made to the
Marc Fisher Trust. This fund was established by
Carol Fisher, whose son died from from the saame type of cancer as Rocky: Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
The trust does valuable work raising money for research into
non-Hodgkins. It's relatively easy to raise money to look into
more well-known cancers such as breast and lung cancers,
but not so easy with lesser-known strains. If some good comes of
Rocky's death, perhaps it will be to raise the profile of this disease, which is among the fastest growing forms of cancer among young people.
Check out the Marc Fisher trust website. You can also get more info on the
disease at www.lymphoma.org.uk.
You can donate to the Marc Fisher Trust in Rocky's name by
sending cheques made out to "The Marc Fisher Trust",
to the following address:

And here's another idea for remembering Rocky, something you
can be doing every day for Cancer research...
You may have come across the SETI screensaver, which enables idle
time on thousands of PCs across the world to be used to process
radio telescope data in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence.
The same technology is now being put to another, more practical
use: the search for cancer cures. The project, backed by Oxford University, is called UD (United Devices), and coincidentally it went live on the day that Rocky died.
You can register for UD at www.ud.com. You get a colour screensaver, and the project gets millions of free hours of computer time. The project has the facility for people to participate in teams, just for a bit of fun. An Arsenal fan has
registered the team "David Rocastle remembered" so please join
in, in his name(to join the Rocky Remembered team, download the software and install, then simply follow this link and click on "join this team")
