Alright, so he only ever made two substitute appearances for Arsenal, but I suspect most Arsenal fans will want to claim Andy Cole as an ex-gooner today.
Former Arsenal trainee Cole scored a deserved winner for Blackburn Rovers in yesterday's Worthington Cup final to deny Tottenham their first trophy under Hoddle and, more importantly, a place in next season's UEFA Cup.
Perhaps honorary gooner status should also be bestowed on Graham Poll. The "Thing from Tring" is hardly the most popular figure at Highbury, but after denying Tottenham a late penalty in the game he's gone right up in my estimation! |
