Silvinho is targeting a sensational return to the Premiership - thanks to a new Italian passport, the Sun reports.

The Brazilian will become an Italian national after qualifying through his Italian wife, and Newcastle are interested.

Silvinho, 28, left Arsenal for Celta Vigo under a cloud of suspicion regarding the Portuguese passport he originally used to gain entry to the UK in September 1999.

The Gunners and the player always insisted the Portuguese passport was genuine, but the Spanish club ignored it and registered him as a Brazilian.
