Tony Adams has apparently been offered a manager's job at Wycombe Wanderers.
The Arsenal legend's adviser Stebe Kutner has been quoted as saying, "Tony has been impressed by the people at Wycombe and had a chat with Martin O'Neill [former Wycombe boss, Ed], who was very encouraging about the club.
We have been approached by a few clubs who have been interested in making Tony manager - but the decision on where he starts his coaching career is one he is taking very seriously."
Wanderers recently sacked Lawrie Sanchez. Former Tottenham and England coach John Gorman (Hod's mate) is currently their caretaker, and Jermaine McSporran has apparently
said
that the players want him to stay on. "John's steadied the ship and got us fighting for each other. We don't know Tony Adams, we know John Gorman."
Whoever takes the post has a tough job ahead of them. Wycombe are currently bottom of division 2, 5 points from safety with just 11 points from 17 games.
Rupe adds...
Adams was confirmed as Wycombe boss the next day. There are Adams quotes from their win over Swindon 3 days later on this report, but strictly speaking he had not taken over yet. |
