Kanu gone to Hawthorns by Rupe

this is story 173 of 181 in this topic to date
Kanu has signed a 3 year deal with West Brom. Albion boss Gary Megson says, "We're obviously delighted Kanu has decided to join us. I felt it was important we signed this type of player as I think it takes us forward not just one step but quite a few steps. One of the things I mentioned to Kanu was that we would be bringing in other players. And while he will make a difference to us, it's important we don't just think this signing will transform us overnight, although it is a massive signing for us." WBA have also signed Jonathan Greening from Middlesbrough and Hungarian captain Zoltan Gera from Ferencvaros.

If Kanu plays like he did when he first joined Arsenal then he will transform them - the man was a revelation. Let's hope for his sake that he gets plenty of action. In the last few years he's seemed to suffer a lot from his lack of appearances, and his occasional cameos from the bench have proved far less effective. But, to be fair, it would be a bit much to expect anyone to maintain the combination of entertainment and effectiveness that he started with. We'd seen flashy players turn up at other clubs, but rarely seen one whose contribution to the team was as productive. Good luck to him, for his sake I'm hoping Albion stay up.

Kanu should have a good few years left in him. It might seem like he's been around for ever but in fact he's still only 28.
