Former Arsenal striker Niall Quinn, who will line up for Sunderland against his former club on Saturday, is fears that young English players today have less chance to get into the team of Arsenal and other top Premiership clubs. "When I signed for [Arsenal] back in 1983, the big selling point was the statistics that were shown to me on how the young, home-grown players were given their chance at Highbury," Quinn says to Soccernet. "I just wonder if Liam Brady, who is in charge of the youth set-up now, has a job on his hands convincing parents in the same way these days." |
