| Real claim innocence |

As suggested here
yesterday, the Real Madrid VP on the Anelka tapes Juan Onieva
has told Spanish paper AS that the tapes prove nothing. He even goes as far as to suggest that they support Real's claims of innocence
(I guess it's true, if you take Onieva's words on the first tape
as proof of what he's saying!).
He also asks who made the recordings and why they've been made
public, questions that interests us too. Our belief
was that when Real agreed to pay us silly money for the brat
Arsenal figured it was time to drop the action against them.
Given that they haven't finished paying for him yet it might
be sensible not to rock the boat. After all, the last thing
we want is for the transfer be declared null & void so
we have to take him back!

To be fair to Martin Bashir (see previous item) he did
press Claude Anelka quite hard in last night's interview. I guess
no-one told Claude to try the doe-eyed look. |
