Nicolas Anelka has finally scored a goal for Real Madrid
in a competitive match. Nominally competitive, anyway:
Al-Nassr don't appear to have much ambition so far. Real would
get more of a fight from a pub side.
The Saudis have managed to get the ball in the net though. As I write,
the score is 1-0 to Real thanks to a defender's attempted tackle/clearance which ricocheted off the grumpy one's shin, looping over the keeper from the edge of the penalty area. So, Nic, is that what you call "playing to your strengths"?
Anelka has subsequently returned to form, managing to miss a couple of easy chances.
(looks like I might have written Al-Nassr off too early,
they've just equalised with a penalty)
