Current first choice goalkeeper Richard Wright may be told to play his second game in two days when the Arsenal reserves entertain the Manchester United reserves in the Worthington Cup tonight. Wright let in three goals and made an own goal against Charlton. It was the first time Arsenal conceded four goals in a Premiership match since the very first: a 2-4 defeat to Norwich in 1992. "I believe Richard will need a lift," manager Arsène Wenger said yesterday. "When you concede four goals at home, your confidence can't be very high. "Some of the players who played will be involved on Monday - Richard will be one of those." The England backup man got his chance when David Seaman injured his shoulder. Rookie substitute Stuart Taylor, who is Wenger's other alternative tonight, is considered too unexperienced for the Premier League, but played in the Worthington Cup last season.
