Worthington Cup, fourth round:
Middlesbrough 2 (1) Arsenal 2 (1) aet 3-1 pen
Ricard 8, 83 pen - Henry 38, Suker 80
Arsenal's Jermaine Pennant became the club's youngest first team player ever after appearing as a substitute. Three other players, Rhys Weston, Ashley Cole and Tommy Black also made their first team debuts, Black from the kick-off. After a goalless extra time period, Davor Suker was the only Arsenal player to score in the penalty shootout. Nelson Vivas, Silvinho and Matthew Upson all missed.
