Too many shirts (available now!) by Rupe

We're somewhat disappointed to read on the official website that the new home shirt is only going to be used for one season.

Arsenal used to have a policy of making sure that all shirts last for 2 years, but that's gone by the wayside it seems. There's going to be a "special commemorative shirt" coming along at the end of the 2004-05 season, to commemorate Arsenal's last season at Highbury. It'd better be bloody "special", that's all I can say.

Anyway, that means you've got less than a year to buy the new kit from the Arseweb shop. Free delivery worldwise as usual.

The nice Yellow Away shirt which was last year's 2nd choice kit is to be the 3rd choice kit this season, making room for the new 2nd choice kit (the blue one worn for the Community Shield, which will be availabel to buy in September) to become 3rd choice blah blah blah.

So, three kits seems to be standard now, and they don't necessarily last more than a year. Sorry if my moaning about too many kits while plugging our shop seems incongruous, but it is the main way in which this site breaks even financially (it costs money even when I'm taking a break, and it costs more money the more up-to-date it is, which means it's going to cost more money in the coming season).

Personally, I don't care if you buy any of these shirts. But if you do, I'd be grateful if you use the Arseweb shop!

Of course, the good thing about this announcement is that it shows that the club is definitely planning to move to Ashburton Grove in 2 years time. Let's hope they don't feel the need to celebrate that event with a new shirt too.
