Update, 2nd April: St Totteringham's Day finally came with the 4-1 win over Norwich. Congratulations to Spurs for keeping it at bay for so long!
Our thanks go to AshburtonGrove.co.uk for getting the St Totteringham's Day maths done early this year.
It's nice to see that the concept has taken root. St Totteringham's Day was so named by long-time Arseweb friend Julian Shulman 3 years ago on March 19th, and is the date when, every year, we celebrate the fact that Tottenham can no longer finish above Arsenal in the league. It is of course a moveable feast, and usually marked by the exchange of banknotes around the country, as Spurs-supporting mates face up to the fact that once again their start-of-season optimism has cost them dear.
March 19th is also the date that the site has calculated to be the earliest possible date for this year's St Totteringham's Day, that's if we beat Blackburn and they lose to Charlton and Man City. If we win our next 3 league games, the day must come on April 9th at the latest, regardless of Spurs' results.
See our St Totteringham's Day page for the dates of St Totteringham's Day going back to the birth of Arseweb in 1994 (8 years before the concept even existed!) including links to league tables and match reports.
To celebrate the impending occasion (or perhaps just because it'll make great viewing at any time), the club are bringing out a Classic Victories over Spurs DVD which is available now from the Arseweb video shop. It comes out on 14th March, just in time for the 19th, but we are taking orders now. Please order through Arseweb as we get a small kickback which helps enormously with running costs.
The DVD features 9 great matches, including...
this season's 5-4,
the one where they cheated to equalise only to be beaten by 2 very late goals,
the one where Kanu took the piss,
the one where Henry beat them single-handed,
and the 5-0 at the Lane where Chippy chipped.
See Arseweb videos page for more details, including links to Arseweb match reports, to order the disk (or just click here) and for lots more great Arsenal videos and DVDs.
