I get asked to pass on all sorts of offers to Arseweb
readers, very few of which seem at all worthwhile to anyone.
But this offer seems too good to be true. For many of us, it
could make our mobile phones pay for themselves....
A company called TheMobileChannel are trying out a system
whereby people with mobiles get paid for receiving text messages.
The messages will be mostly adverts: requiring no
response, costing the recipient nothing but rather earning
them 5p for every message they receive. You get paid in
vouchers but there's a reasonable choice (including WHSmith, HMV, Boots, Tesco, phone top-ups) so it's not a rip-off.
Alternatively, you can choose for your earnings to be donated to your choice from
a selection of charities.
There will also be some competitions
and surveys which might require a text reply in order
for you to have the chance to win extra (on top of the 5p for every message).
There will be a maximum of 3 messages sent per day.
Follow this link or use the button to the right
to join up. Yes, Arseweb gets a kickback (50p per sign up). It
doesn't come out of what you earn so please please do use our links when you sign up, and use our links if you're going to
help friends sign up too.
If you're reading the WAP version of the newsreel, please note that to sign up for the mobile channel you need to fill in some
details about yourself on their website, you can't do it direct from
your mobile. So please do it next time you visit Arseweb.
Here's an example of an deal I declined, which I'm telling you about only because it it might make you chuckle. It did me....
I've been offered a 20% cut of the proceeds if I can find someone
willing to pay £2000.00 (two thousand pounds) for the domain name "thisisarsenal.com". If there is anyone out there rich and foolish enough to think this is worth it, please contact me immediately. I can save you a whopping
ONE THOUSAND POUNDS by taking a mere grand off your hands.
You won't get anything in return, but what's the difference? And if
you think two grand is a fair price for that domain name you'll be too dumb to understand any of this (presumably, a friend is reading this out to you...)
