Reports in Monday's press, and on various web sites (eg. Sky) suggest that Emmanuel Petit will not be seen on a pitch until the Champions League return fixtures.
Manu limped off at Sunderland, and was expected to miss a couple of weeks... but on the advice of one of France's top knee specialists (?), he will be out until the end of September, and October is only 50-50.
That means he'll almost certainly miss the first 3 games in the CL, against Fiorentina, AIK and Barca (in that order). Thank goodness Arsene went for 'strength in depth'.
