Although one could argue that neither of his yellow cards was fully deserved and that Neil Ruddock instigated the trouble between the 2 of them, there's no excuse for spitting at an opponent (especially in front of the TV cameras), nor for getting into aggro with a Policeman on your way to the dressing room. It seems likely that Patrick will be facing an extended ban, the police having confirmed that they're sending a report on the latter incident to the FA. See Sporting Life

At least Emmanuel Petit should be back soon, but one can't help wondering if it might be a long time before we get to see the two of them playing together again.
