Under the headline "Bergkamp puts Wenger in spin", the Online Mirror desperately tries to twist Dennis Bergkamp quotes into something not 100 percent committed to Arsenal. As if we Gooners weren't used to that by now... The story claims that Bergkamp "has dropped his biggest hint yet that he might be ready to quit Arsene Wenger's Highbury squad." Quotes in the text suggest that 30 year old Bergkamp's current contract runs another fourteen months, to the summer of 2001, and that he hasn't been offered an extension. Yet. "I have to be honest, I'm not a player who thinks about the future," Bergkamp says inside the quotation marks. "I'm 30 now and I've still got good years left in me so it's not a problem... But I'll keep an open mind." "I'm very happy here and I'm not sure whether I'd want to go home or to another country," he continues. Wenger's 'spinning' does not enter any of the paragraphs published on Mirror's website... Show's over folks, nothin' to see here!
