Patrick Vieira, speaking to the Daily Star, admits that he acted like a lunatic in the infamous Neil Ruddock gobbing incident.
'I deeply regret my actions,' he says (under a truly appalling headline - 'I'm Vieira Sorry'), 'so much so, in fact, that I cannot face seeing it again. It just wasn't me. Now I am prepared to face the consequences.'
He defends his record in the Premiership, claiming that although there are 'some downright vicious' players in the league, he's not one of them.
All very timely, with his disciplinary hearing imminent - but I wonder how many of the FA's panel reads the Daily Star. |
