According to Sporting Life, the Peter Pan of left backs Nigel Winterburn has convinced Arsène Wenger to
offer him an extension on his contract. The article also
talks about the calls for him to be given a long-overdue
chance with England.
Let's hope that Wenger does the sensible thing. He's signed an
exciting-looking replacement in Silvinho, but last year's
Arsenal footballer of the season has a good
few games left in him yet and just seems to get better and better. He's nearly 36 and another year would give him a decent chance of breaking David O'Leary's appearance record.
