It seems
that earlier hopes
that Dennis Bergkamp and Tony Adams might be fit in time
for the Bradford game this Saturday have suffered a setback.
Both have been left out of the reserve squad for Coventry tonight,
manager Arsène Wenger having faced up to the fact
that neither is quite ready for action. See
this AFCi page for squad list. The page does suggest that
they both still have a chance of playing against Bradford,
but surely it can only be a slight chance.
It did seem a bit quick to be throwing them into action
seeing as they only started training again yesterday.
Given that Keown and Grimandi have been sheer class in
Adams' absence, and that Suker is back from suspension to
partner Henry up front,
it seems like a wise decision. We've really been missing
Overmars on the left though, so perhaps that's going
to be the surprise return on Saturday.
See preview page for more team news from both camps.
