There's a tantalising reference, in a Sports.com report about Sunday's match, to 'a freak accident' being the real reason that Tony Adams failed to appear for the big six-pointer, despite coming successfully through a full reserve game earlier in the week.

Thanks to several Arseweb readers for passing on the news that Emmanuel Petit shut the dressing room door on Tone's foot just before the kickoff, taking off a toenail (rumoured to be a big toe, unconfirmed as yet). The toe then became infected... and Adams is out for a couple of weeks. Brilliant.
