Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger is said to have lost his cool in an extraordinary team meeting following Sunday's defeat at Liverpool. Soccernet claims that Wenger lost his temper with his squad for the first time, after calling the troops together Tuesday. No players or other sources are directly quoted in the two separate stories that appear here and here. "At the specially-convened meeting he accused his squad of lacking spirit and passion, said he felt personally let down and told some players that they don't deserve to bank their wages," one of the reports claim. The blow-out is supposed to have been inspired by the legendary Tony Adams teamtalk after a home defeat to Blackburn more than two years ago. And of course, the report makes a point of offers from France and Japan... Heard it before? |
