17 year old Jermaine Pennant is in the Arsenal squad for the Amsterdam tournament, beginning today. The Arsenal roster, as reported by the Mirror, is believed to consist of the eighteen players most likely to figure in the first team in the coming season. Pennant became Arsenal's youngest ever first team player when he came on as a substitute in the Worthington Cup last season. The teenage right winger signed from Notts County a year and a half ago. IF the squad list printed in the Mirror is to be belived, neither Ashley Cole, Paolo Vernazza or Graham Barrett will appear against Barcelona tonight or Ajax on Saturday.
