Arsenal midfielder and Olympic champion Lauren will not yet return to London after winning gold in Sydney. Instead, he has returned to Spain to be with his seriously ill father.

He has revealed that he almost travelled back from Sydney before the Olympic tournament was over, but that Kanu talked him out of it.
