Various media reports today that David Seaman injured himself during training in Rome yesterday night, and that third choice keeper John Lukic may start tonight's UEFA Champions League clash with SS Lazio. Lukic, 40 in November, haven't started a first team game for Arsenal since keeping a clean sheet in a Premier League draw against Tottenham in 1997. In Alex Manninger's injury absence this season, however, he has been a regular among the Arsenal substitutes. If veteran Lukic starts the game, England U21 international Stuart Taylor will be named as substitute after hastily being called back from loan at Crystal Palace and then being flown to Rome. Seaman's injury is sketchily reported to be a kind of back strain. The severity of the injury is not known. |
