Arsenal have issued this statement regarding previous rumours that the
Greek passport, which removes the need for Tomas to get a work permit, may be less than perfect.
Arsenal have now had confirmation from the Greek authorities, as
well as the Home Office, that they are happy with the player's
documents.
They are now confident that they have done everything possible
to verify the player's status, and he is available for selection.
Arsenal don't want to talk about it any more, and who can blame them. But manager Arsene Wenger has been quoted as saying that he'll
be more careful over this aspect of signings in the future. See
eg Soccernet.
