Arsenal have been warned by Barcelona supremo Joan Gaspart to tie manager Arsène Wenger to a new long-term deal, or risk losing him to the Spanish giants at the end of next season. Wenger has insisted he will honour the remainder of his contract, which runs out at the end of the 2001/02 season. Gaspart revealed last night he is going to appoint a coach for next season only, and according to the Mirror, this is the clearest hint yet he is determined to hold out for the Arsenal manager. Wenger is quoted to say: "I think I'll sign a new deal but at the moment it's difficult to say what I plan to do. "I'll discuss it in the summer with the club."
