| Wenger prepared to forgive |

"Despite what he has said - and what has been going on - I still don't want him to go," manager Arsène Wenger says of Patrick Vieira. Wenger says to the Sunday People that he's prepared to forgive Vieira's attack on the club and his team-mates. Wenger has yet to sign his own new contract at Highbury, but will try all he can to keep hold of the player he regards as the most important at the club. He plans to have a man-to-man talk with Vieira when training resumes on Thursday. "Of course I think he will remain an Arsenal player. That is what we hope," Wenger says. Not unexpectedly, the Sunday Mirror tries to scare Arsenal fans with repeating that the manager has yet to sign his contract. But we knew that, and the paper doesn't mention any new rumours... |
