Arsenal have decided not to include Patrick Vieira in their line-up for tomorrow's friendly at league newcomers Rushden & Diamonds. According to the Evening Standard, the reason may well be the claims that Real Madrid are stepping up their bid to sign the midfielder.

Even the possible abuse that might come from the terraces is quoted as a possible reason. But though not so juicy, the real reason may be that Vieira has only been training less than a week after his holiday.
