Arsenal and England defender Martin Keown is charged with two counts of violent conduct by the Football Association (FA). The charges relate to a stormy Premier League clash between Arsenal and Leeds United at Highbury on May 5, Reuters report.

Keown appeared to elbow Mark Viduka immediately after a clash with Lee Bowyer. The referee took no action after either incident but last month the FA said it was viewing video evidence.

Keown has 14 days to reply to the charges.
