A report in Monday's Mirror says there are questions over the validity of the Greek passport held by Lithuanian import Tomas Danilevicius, currently on loan at Belgian side Beveren.
As a Greek national - and hence the holder of a European Union passport, Tomas would be able to get around work permit restrictions. The report, which centres around Newcastle's Nobby Solano, says Arsenal will escape punishment as an innocent party in the fraud.
There's no indication of the punishment which Tomas himself might face... but a ban from the Premiership must be a possibility. The Mirror says the Immigration Service will announce its findings before the start of the season. |
