We at Arseweb have lost track of the number of times we've reported that Patrick Vieira was being hailed as the next Arsenal captain - well, it's now (finally!) been confirmed, more or less. According to a piece in the Evening Standard, Arsene Wenger has named Vieira the official club vice-captain - explaining why he led the side out against Norwich on Tuesday night, despite the presence of regular stand-in Martin Keown. The brief quote from Wenger ('He has got that job') says enough.
