As we already have gathered from the pre-season games, Lauren is poised to compete for the right-back position with veteran Lee Dixon.

In the Daily Star, Lauren reveals that he signed for the club on the premise of eventually playing right-back, as he did when Arsenal beat Barnet 6-1 in last Saturday's friendly. The Cameroon international and Olympic champion describes his club as "one of the best teams in Europe."

"Last season [Dixon] did well, he is one of the most experienced players at Arsenal," Lauren admits.
